In 1990 she took a sabbatical from her graphic design career and followed her dream to live in Florence. It was there she began her formal training in jewelry design. She attended the Studio Art Center International (SACI) in Florence, Italy. And upon returning to the United States she continued her jewelry studies at the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, PA. In 1991, she made the cross country journey to live and work in San Francisco. It was here she developed her design skills and honed her craft while designing custom fine jewelry for Pave Fine Jewelry Design, a Bay area jewelry studio.
In 1995, inspired by her clients’ enthusiasm for her work, she launched her own jewelry design business and continues to hand make all her own pieces. Now after taking some time off to spend with her family she is back designing in her San Diego studio. Her new line, SYMBOLS: 5 Universal Charms will be added to her current collections: Wedding & Flora and the Classics: Bracelets & Necklaces.
Artist Statement
“All through the ages jewelry has been an ever-present element in our lives. It is a timeless art form that is worn to adorn and commemorate life. It is my pleasure to create designs that will become part of people's lives and continue these creative traditions.”
What makes my jewelry different?
In creating my designs I became aware of my materials and where they come from.... the earth. In keeping with my personal beliefs of doing one's best to conserve nature, I have added the use of 100% recycled Sterling Silver to all of my cast pieces. Let’s all do our part to help the Earth.
